Product Stewardship

Product Stewardship is the application-level product review and repair workspace for Application Administrators and Experts. It uses the same product rows, filters, selection model, queued commands, and Mass Update platform as Products overview, but its scope is based on stewardship authority rather than one selected company's workspace.

When to use it

Use Product Stewardship when you need to:

  • find products with missing brand, manufacturer, Brand Owner, or company relationships;
  • review completeness, workflow, publication, data, identity, health, and quality states across the governed scope;
  • find products whose effective template, name, identity, or variant information needs processing;
  • inspect standalone products, groups of variants, or variant products;
  • select products for a permitted repair, Mass Update, or data export.

Use Products overview for ordinary maintenance inside one company workspace. Product Stewardship is not a shortcut around company ownership; it is the governed cross-company surface for authorized expert work.

Search and filters

The page supports text search plus filters for product kind and shape, categories, brands, completeness, workflow, review, publication, data status, issue flags, quality flags, health flags, and sorting.

Filters have draft and applied states. Apply the filters before treating the visible rows or an all-matching selection as the final target set.

Product shapes

  • Products and variants shows concrete product records.
  • Standalone products excludes variant-family members.
  • Groups of variants shows family-level rows.
  • Variant products shows the individual variants.

Keep the shape explicit: an operation that is valid for a product may have different meaning or availability for a group of variants.

Review and repair workflow

  1. Open Product Stewardship.
  2. Apply the smallest useful set of filters for the issue being investigated.
  3. Open a row to inspect the product, group, status badges, and recorded issues.
  4. Select specific rows, the visible page, or all matching rows when the page permits it.
  5. Choose an available command or open Mass Update.
  6. Review the target scope and operation before queuing it.
  7. Follow progress and inspect the result or management history for failures and partial completion.
  8. For data export results, use Download export in the notification or open Expert -> Exports.

Commands are permission- and state-dependent. A hidden or disabled command can mean that the selected product shape, governance state, or current role is not valid for that operation.

Important rules

  • Public product pages do not show every draft, internal, invalid, or conflicted product; use this workspace for governance records.
  • Selection is a safety boundary. Confirm whether you selected explicit rows, one page, or all matching filters.
  • Product processing can be queued. Closing the page does not convert a queued operation into an immediate synchronous edit.
  • Do not use this page to imply ownership that a company does not have.
